Baked pear crumble















Baked pear crumbles make a delicious treat! 

Preparation Time

15 minutes

Cooking Time

40 minutes

Ingredients (serves 6)

  • 6 small pears, halved, cored, or 4 large pears, quartered, cored
  • 90g (1 cup) rolled oats
  • 75g (1/2 cup) plain flour
  • 55g (1/4 cup) caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 80g chilled butter, chopped

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with non-stick baking paper. Place the pear, cut-side up, on the lined tray.
  2. Place the oats, flour, sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the oat mixture until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  3. Sprinkle the mixture over the pear. Bake for 40 minutes or until crumble is golden and the pear is tender.

Notes

Cook's tip: Use a melon baller to remove the core from the pear halves.
Serving tip: Serve with bought vanilla custard or vanilla ice-cream.
